Confessions of a Sandy Newborn Photographer
Be honest for a moment - what have you done with your photos since your last professional photography session? Did you print them, frame a favorite for your walls, or create a keepsake album? Or… are they still “in time out,” sitting on your computer or (gasp!) lost among the thousands of snapshots on your phone?
Guilty as charged.
Here’s my confession: I never printed the photos from my son’s newborn photography session—TEN years ago! Sure, I shared a few online at the time, but the rest have been sitting on a flash drive in storage, completely forgotten. Even as I evolved into a professional newborn photographer, I fell into the same trap many families do - good intentions, but busy schedules and too many decisions about what to print.

Why Printed Photos Are So Important
Technology changes so quickly these days. Just 10 years ago, when I had my maternity photos taken, the digital images were delivered on a CD. We have already established that I was too busy to print the newborn photos of my son, so I certainly didn't print the photos of myself. Now that I go back to view those photos, I don't even have a CD drive to view the images. Printed images will always be tangible, visible, and enjoyable.
Research shows that children feel more pride and self-worth when they see themselves displayed in photographs in their homes. Family wall art and albums aren’t just decoration—they become part of your child’s story. My son, Evan, has even asked why there are more pictures of his sister displayed than of him. Try explaining to a child that “you have more time with your first baby than your second.” It doesn’t exactly make sense to them, does it?
The truth is, life gets busy. Choosing sizes, frames, and styles can feel overwhelming. But that’s exactly why I want to make printing your photos easier.

Helping Families in Utah Print Their Memories
At Tiny Details Photography in Sandy, Utah, I’ve always offered professional photo products, but many families chose only digitals. I think that’s because you may not realize how many beautiful, lasting options are available.
Canvas, wood, acrylic prints, framed wall art, and heirloom albums—I offer them all, and I’m here to guide you through the process so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
(Hint: I’m especially in love with the new hexagon heritage wood prints—I’ll be adding them to my studio soon, and I can’t wait to share them with you!)
What’s Coming Next
In the coming weeks, I’ll be highlighting some of these products so you can see what’s possible for your own home. I’m also updating my pricing to make it easier (and less stressful) to order prints and products you’ll love for years to come. And yes, a print sale for my photography clients may be just around the corner!

Let’s Chat About Your Photos
Now I’d love to hear from you! How have you used your professional photos? Do you have them proudly displayed on your walls, or are they still hiding on your computer?
If you haven’t printed yet, don’t worry...you’re not alone. I’d love to share ideas for how to display your images beautifully in your home. Trust me. It is such a different feeling seeing them every day as wall art or in an album instead of only on a screen.
