About Jami, your maternity photographer
Hi, I’m Jami! I’m a Salt Lake City maternity photographer who is passionate about celebrating the beauty, strength, and love that radiates during pregnancy. I know firsthand how quickly this season of life passes—when I was pregnant with my first baby, I didn’t get maternity photos. And truthfully? It’s one of my biggest regrets. I wish I had those images to look back on, to remember what an incredible time it was as my body created a whole new human life. That’s why I care so deeply about documenting this chapter for other women. Pregnancy is beautiful in all forms, and I will celebrate your body exactly as it is—every curve, every detail, every ounce of strength it carries. Through thoughtful posing, flattering lighting, and a comfortable, relaxed session, I’ll create images that highlight the beauty you may not even realize you have in the moment. These photos aren’t just for you today—they’re for your children and family to look back on years from now. My goal is to capture the anticipation, joy, and love that surrounds this fleeting time so you’ll never regret not having these memories preserved.

Frequently asked questions about maternity photography

What is a maternity photo session?
A maternity photo session is a chance to celebrate and document the beauty, joy and anticipation of pregnancy. A mother's changing body is miraculous and something to celebrate!
When should I book maternity photos?
I recommend contacting me to book your maternity photo session during the last part of the first trimester or early second trimester of your pregnancy. Pregnancy photo sessions are best done between about 27 and 34 weeks gestation, when the baby bump is visible but you still have the space and energy to move around.

Where is a maternity photo session done?

You can choose to do a maternity session in the photography studio in Sandy, UT, or you can choose an outdoor location along the Wasatch Front. I have a long list of location options for each season! Studio sessions can be scheduled any time of the day, as we will be using studio light. With an outdoor session, we will be limited to the timing of weather and natural light. Evening sessions just prior to sunset will give us the best light. Contact me below and we can discuss options further!

What to wear for a maternity photo session?

I want you to feel beautiful and also comfortable during your pregnancy photos. I have a selection of gorgeous maternity gowns that photograph well. You are welcome to choose a few for your session, but if dresses aren't your thing, feel free to wear what you feel comfortable in. I have had mamas wear their own maternity clothing, or even a cute bralette and regular jeans (unbuttoned to show off that cute belly!)

How long does a maternity photo session last?
A maternity photo session will last between 1-2 hours, depending on how many outfit changes or location changes there are. I set aside enough time to make sure you are comfortable during the session and able to take breaks as needed.
Can my family be included in maternity photos?
Of course! Immediate family including your partner and any other children you have are welcome at the maternity session. My studio is small, so if you have a large family we may have to look at doing an outdoor session or renting a larger studio.

What if my baby comes early before maternity photos are done?

Sometimes babies are unpredictable, right? I try to time the session early enough in the pregnancy that we don't have to worry about that, but preemies do happen. If you have complications or an early delivery in your pregnancy, I can credit your maternity session for a Fresh 48 session in the hospital or a milestone session later on in baby's life.

How much does a maternity photography session cost?

There is a session fee that is due at the time of booking. The session fee is variable depending on the collection you choose. Prints and digital images are sold separately. The session fee includes the time and talent of the photographer, access to the gowns in my client closet, and a private online gallery where you will view your images and choose your photos, prints and products. Looking to save a little? Ask about the discount for booking both a newborn and maternity session together!

Why is maternity photography so expensive?
Knowing how to style and pose a mama-to-be takes time and education, both of which I have invested in these sessions. The backdrops in studio and the maternity gowns in the client closet are handmade from the best vendors, and are quite expensive. My images are also hand edited to deliver you high quality art that will be a timeless treasure for your home and your family.

Where is your portrait studio located?

My maternity photography sessions are done in my studio in Sandy, near Salt Lake City, Utah, or an outdoor location decided on by both photographer and client.
